Charles J. Moore is the founder, President and controlling person of TBFC. Mr. Moore organized Funds I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, and IX in 1986, 1989, 1992, 1995, 1998, 2002, 2005, 2008, and 2014 respectively. Mr. Moore has also been involved in counseling portfolio company managements in such areas as mergers & acquisitions, capital markets, business mix, and balance sheet structure. From 1976 to 1984, Mr. Moore owned and managed a private investment company engaged in both proprietary investment arbitrage and investment management for individual clients. From 1973 to 1976, Mr. Moore worked for The Northern Trust Company, first as an investment analyst and then as co-manager of the Special Equity Fund, a private equity fund involved in venture capital, mezzanine finance, and small emerging growth companies. He has degrees from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (M.B.A., IPA Award for Excellence in Accounting), University of Oxford (M.A. Oxon., with honors), and the University of Pennsylvania (B.A.).
